We thought that it would be useful to pull together a handy ‘directory’ of cafes and diners that are doing daytime takeaway. There are some casual evening takeaway options in here too.

Cafes across Lisburn & Castlereagh have shown untold resilience over the past 8 months and it would seem they have all raised their game for lockdown 2. Let’s hope they can open again in a couple of weeks but even if they can, there is no doubt that a takeaway element is going to be with us for some time to come (hopefully in combination with sit-in and outdoor dining areas).
We have endeavoured to be as inclusive as possible but please let us know if we have missed any and we will happily add them.

Binky’s Kitchen at Eastpoint Entertainment Village is operating a call and collect or delivery service from 9am-4pm 7 days a week. They are also offering 10% discount to call and collect customers. Pre-orders can be made by calling 02890 482277 or on JustEat. If you prefer an order can be brought to your car. Current special offers include a scone or tray bake with a hot drink for £5 and Weekend Roasts for 1, 2 or 4 persons, available Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Café Nosh is a stalwart of Dundonald village, and their full menu is available for takeaway. They also have a range of homemade chilled meals, fresh bread and cakes from their deli range to enjoy at home. You’ll find everything from stews, chilli, lasagnes, cottage pie, beef stroganoff, quiches, and desserts. Check all the Café Nosh has to offer on their Facebook page.

The Village Kitchen is open 10am-2pm, Monday-Friday, for takeaway and ‘heat and eat’ meals at home. They are also doing twice weekly free deliveries for their fresh chilled meals (which are also suitable for freezing). 2nd Avenue Café on Antrim St in Lisburn is open offering takeaway Monday-Saturday 8.30am-4pm with its menu of breakfasts, lunches, scones and traybakes. Breakfasts range from porridge to smashed avocado on toast and filled sodas. Lunches include warming soup and sandwiches or salad bowls. 2nd Avenue Café has also just added pizzas by the slice (or of course you can order a full pizza too!). Ashvale Farm Shop & Tea Room is back with its baked goods and tea-room menu for takeaway as well as its chilled deli range for heating at home to make mealtimes at home easy. The Ashvale Tea Rooms is open for takeaway from 9am-3.30pm Monday-Saturday and the Farm Shop is open until 5pm each day. Bob & Berts’ refurbed Bow Street café is open for takeaway and delivery during the current restrictions with a full menu of coffees, breakfasts, brunches, lunches, dinners and shakes. Café Vic Ryn have an exciting new venture with a Takeaway Drive Thru ‘Pop Up’ At Hillsborough, Monday-Saturday from 8am-4.00pm serving hot drinks, homemade scones and traybakes. The Café Vic Ryn Drive Thru Pop-Up launches on Wednesday 4th November and is situated at the A1 turn-off for Hillsborough, north bound, just off Pantridge Link beside Grahams. Dalton’s Lisburn has just launched its new app to make takeaway and collection ordering even easier. You’ll find the app on either Apple Store or Google Play. Takeaway, collection and delivery is available Monday-Saturday, 10am-3pm. Dalton’s is renowned for their gourmet made to order sandwiches and homemade soup. Ground Espresso Bars at Next Sprucefield Shopping Centre and Laganbank are open for takeaway 9am-4pm Monday-Saturday and 1pm-4.30pm on Sunday. They have even launched a new ‘Click & Collect’ facility so you can order directly from your phone when in the store to minimise contact and speed up service. Hillmount Garden Centre’s café, The Gardener’s Rest, is offering a takeaway menu with its in-house made scones and traybakes, breakfasts and lunches including toasties, wraps, soup, sandwiches and sausage rolls. The Daily Apron café and bakery (in the Smyth & Patterson Department Store) is open 9am-2pm Monday-Saturday. Breakfasts, Big Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Deli menu options with in-house baked cakes all on offer for takeaway and pre-order. The Daily Apron also has its award winning (read great tasting) sourdough breads for sale. They have also created a few bundles that sound amazing during this period when we are all at home more. Bodenes Texas BBQ Diner at the Leisureplex serves right through the day from 10am-9pm with call & collect (or pre-order) and deliveries. Gilly G’s fast food, freshly made takeaway and deliveries are back from 9.30am Tuesday-Saturday. Fries, Fish & Chips or Burgers. The sliced steak suppers look worth checking out! Bad Ass Burrito on Haslem’s Lane is open 5pm-9pm for takeaway, collection and delivery with a full menu of burittos, buritto bowls, fajitos, big dog naans and even burgers and bad ass funky fries if you fancy that. Toki on the lane, Lisburn Square, produces Asian inspired cuisine with a mix of modern and European flavours. The Parson’s Nose Pantry serves takeaway coffee, fresh scones and breads and is fully stocked with local fresh fish, Hannan’s meats, and its gastropubs chilled meals. Yellow Door at Hillsborough Castle is now operating a click and collect or delivery service for their popular brunch menu and bistro menu as well as their coffee shop favourites of coffee, pastries, traybakes and scones. Collection is from the café from 10am-4pm or from the top car park from 4pm-8pm. All the renowned Yellow Door bistro dishes can be ordered to enjoy at home including Seafood Chowder, authentic Bolognaise Ragu and Super You Salad.
